OffsetKit Privacy Policy

This policy explains how OffsetKit: Pipe Calculator handles information. OffsetKit is an offline geometry calculator published under the Marvin name.

In brief: OffsetKit does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your app data. Measurements, optional saved names, saved calculations, and settings stay in private storage on your device.

Information stored on your device

OffsetKit may store the following information locally when you use the app:

measurements, bend angles, takeouts, and gaps used in calculations;
saved calculation values and save times;
an optional name you give a saved calculation; and
unit, rounding, theme, contrast, and last-tool settings.

This information is kept in Android's private app storage. It is not sent to Marvin or another party. OffsetKit does not have an account system, server, analytics service, advertising service, tracking SDK, cloud sync, or internet permission.

Backups, retention, and deletion

Android backup is disabled for OffsetKit, so the app does not provide cloud backup or cloud recovery. An individual saved calculation stays on the device until you delete it. Settings and other local app information stay until you clear OffsetKit's app data or uninstall the app. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes all OffsetKit information stored on the device.

Clipboard use

If you choose Copy, OffsetKit places the selected calculation summary on the Android system clipboard. OffsetKit does not read unrelated clipboard contents. Android and any app into which you paste the text handle the clipboard after that point.

Permissions and network access

OffsetKit requests no user-granted permissions. Outside its own private app storage, it does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, files, photos, messages, calendar, phone, or nearby devices. It does not send network requests.

Purchases

Google Play handles the app purchase, receipt, taxes, payment details, and any store refund process under Google's terms. OffsetKit does not receive or store payment-card details.

Support email

If you email support, your email provider and the Marvin support mailbox process the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. This communication happens outside OffsetKit. It is used to understand and respond to your support request. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, or information you do not want included in email.

Children

OffsetKit is a specialized tool for adult pipe trades and fabrication work. It is not designed for or directed to children.

Security

OffsetKit reduces privacy risk by keeping app information on the device and not transmitting it. Device security still depends on Android, your device settings, and anyone who can access your unlocked device or clipboard.

Changes to this policy

If OffsetKit's data handling changes, this policy will be updated before the changed version is released. The effective date at the top will also be revised.
